Cale Makar is 3-3 in playoff elimination games in his career. Nathan MacKinnon is 4-5, including two Game 7 overtime losses. The Avs never once had their backs to the wall during the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now their generational core faces an uphill climb. Trailing 3-2 to the Kraken, the Avalanche play Game 6 on Friday (7 p.m. MT, TNT) back at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena. Here are three keys to forcing a Game 7.1. Drown it out, Cale. Makar will be greeted with enthusiastic loathing in his return from a one-game suspension. The Avs haven’t lost a road game in regulation since March 4. But their best player never faced a deafening boo chorus during that run. Makar claimed that “I don’t really hear it that much” when he’s on the ice. If that’s what works for him, so be it. Some embrace the villainy; others ignore it. Either way, Makar needs to be sharp in a hostile elimination atmosphere.2. Georgiev v. Grubauer is misleading. Since Colorado leaders began planning a major expansion of state-funded preschool more than two years ago, parents and advocates have wondered: Will there be enough seats for everybody who wants one?The answer: It depends. On paper, there are plenty of seats. State officials expect only about half of Colorado’s 4-year-olds — around 31,000 children — to participate in the first year. Meanwhile, a Chalkbeat analysis found more than 56,000 preschool seats available for next fall.“Right now, it’s looking really good,” said Dawn Odean, the state’s universal preschool director. But things get stickier at the county level. Some parts of the state are awash in preschool seats and others don’t have nearly enough. Some families may also struggle to find preschools with the schedules and programming they want.“The physical number of slots versus what parents actually need doesn’t necessarily align,” said Kelly Esch, who’s both the parent of a preschooler and executive director of an organi...In-N-Out Burger opens Denver location on Friday

By Clare Duffy | CNNWhen Elon Musk first agreed to buy Twitter, he promised to make the company “better than ever,” with greater transparency, fewer bots, a stronger business and more of what he called “free speech.”But six months after Musk took control of Twitter, the future of the company and the platform have never been less certain. After acquiring the social media platform for $44 billion in late October, Musk reportedly now values Twitter at around $20 billion — and some who track the company believe even that estimate is likely high. Musk repeatedly warned that Twitter could be at risk of filing for bankruptcy only to claim he had brought it back from the brink thanks to his slashing costs, both by laying off 80% of Twitter’s staff and allegedly by failing to pay some of its bills, according to multiple lawsuits. But it’s not clear just how and when Musk might return Twitter to growth.RELATED: How Elon Musk transformed Twitter’s blue check ...Latest news
