BOSTON (AP) — The biggest Pride parade in New England returns to Boston after a three-year hiatus Saturday, with a fresh focus on social justice and inclusion rather than corporate backing.About 10,000 marchers signed up before registration was shut down, according to organizers. Employee groups are welcome to march, but corporations aren’t. “We really did start by looking forward to how we could best serve the LGBTQ community in greater Boston and really all across New England,” said Jo Trigilio, vice president of Boston Pride for the People.One of the oldest Pride events in the country, this year’s parade will travel a bit shorter route than in past years, beginning at Copley Square and ending at Boston Common with a festival for families, teens and older community members. A man was arrested after a dangerous high-speed chase in Los Angeles near Boyle Heights on Friday. During the pursuit, the suspect was driving a reported stolen light-colored Hyundai Elantra. Sky5 video shows the driver swerving through several lanes at high speeds over 100 miles per hour, barely missing other cars on the freeway. The driver then exits the highway, pulls into a dead end in an apartment complex and jumps out of the car. SAN FRANCISCO — Multiple people were shot Friday night in San Francisco’s Mission District, police said.Officers from the Mission Station were called to the area of 24th Street and Treat Avenue at 9:07 p.m. for a report of a shooting, a San Francisco police spokesperson said in an email. They arrived to find multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.Medics were summoned to the scene to treat and transport the victims to area hospitals.“At this time we can confirm that there are multiple shooting victims,” the spokesperson said. “Their medical conditions are unknown. SFPD responded to the area of 24th Street and Treat Avenue at about 9:07 p.m. for the report of a shooting. Multiple gunshot wound victims were taken to local hospitals. (KRON) -- Nine minors who were arrested in connection with 35 Oakland robberies have not been charged, KRON4 confirmed with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. "Oakland Police Department acknowledged to the Juvenile Division Charging Deputy that there was not sufficient evidence to identify the suspects to charge any of the juveniles," DA Pamela Price's office said. Three girls and six boys between the ages of 12 and 17 were taken into custody in May in connection with the robberies. Eight are Oakland residents. TOKYO (AP) — Two passenger planes bumped into each other on a runway at a major Tokyo airport Saturday but no injuries were reported, a government official said.A Thai Airways International jet headed to Bangkok accidentally hit a parked Eva Airways plane headed to Taipei at Haneda airport, said Isamu Yamane, a deputy administrator in the Transport Ministry.The runway was temporarily closed after the incident but reopened about two hours later after it was cleared, Yamane said.
