O'FALLON, Mo. - A re-zoning proposal on 11 acres of land in O'Fallon, Missouri, is getting a lot of attention from neighbors.“My biggest issue as a parent, as a high school teacher, the fact that they want to put a Circle K literally at the corner of Knaust and Mexico," said Amy Schwendemann. "It’s a super busy intersection as it is."Schwendemann lives behind the 11-acre plot of land. She said neighbors have many concerns about the change, including how it will impact the already busy intersection.“Anybody that has been around high schoolers at arrival time and dismissal time, it’s already a crazy intersection," she said. "There’s multiple accidents there already. Adding a gas station is going to possibly add to that as well." Waymore Love for Dale Watson: Kira Annalise of Americana duo the Waymores told us about her Dale Watson experience.Kira Annalise: The best gig we ever saw collectively was in Austin, TX at The Continental Club in May, 2021. We had seen Dale Watson perform plenty of times but there’s something about The Continental that really puts him in his element. The club is legendary in every sense of the word. It opened its doors in 1955 and has seen the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Ely, Junior Brown and Social Distortion amongst thousands of others. It’s dark, red lit and only has a few tables with most of the space being dedicated to the dancers that come out every night of the week. Dale was performing on a Monday and it was wall-to-wall as if no one had work the next morning. Watson walked through the doors just moments before set time, shaking hands and quickly making his way through the crowd and onto the stage where his band was waiting, ready and prepared. Q: What’s going on at the intersection of McKee Road and White Road? There has been much construction work and it seems like there are no more dedicated right turn lanes. Are there plans to bring them back? The larger, safer pedestrian islands are nice, but this really clogs up traffic flow.Hank HuA: San Jose has installed traffic islands extending into the intersection to slow drivers down. This is happening all throughout the city. The major cause of accidents in most cities is speeding. San Jose and other cities are trying to reduce speed by installing more traffic calming measures.
