Athan Kaliakmanis sat in a padded chair inside Kenan Stadium last Saturday, but was not comfortable in his performance in the Gophers’ 31-13 loss to North Carolina. After his eighth career start, the redshirt sophomore quarterback answered eight questions over three minutes and 13 seconds. He was succinct and mostly said the same thing. Among his 37 total sentences, 26 related to him taking personal responsibility for the performance in some way, shape or form.“I’m very hard on myself; that’s on me. It is on me,” Kaliakmanis said after he completed 38 percent of his passes for 138 yards and one interception. “I didn’t play as well as I wanted to play. That was probably the worst game I’ve ever played.”He steered every answer back to how he felt he let the team down — including less-gloomy questions about the U’s comeback on both sides of halftime, another standout performance by freshman tailback Darius Taylor and learning while watching Tar Heels star QB Drake Maye from the opposite...The Loop NFL Picks: Week 3
